As a young man, Imam Siddeeq’s (Clark X Moore) devotion to the original Nation of Islam under the leadership of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was a product of the times, and a necessary step of his personal spiritual evolution to true Islam.
A gifted communicator, Imam Siddeeq would use his gift of speech and spirit to give voice to the voiceless and oppressed.
In addition to being an activist and a faith leader, Imam Siddeeq was a talented jazz pianist and loved to entertaining his beloved grandchildren at family gatherings.
Imam Siddeeq was never content to share his message solely within the circles of those who follow Islam; on the contrary, he was eager to take whatever platform necessary to speak out for righteousness and justice.
Here Imam Siddeeq is flanked by friends of the Siddeeq family: fellow activist and scholar the late, great, Muhammad Ali, as well as the inimitable Mike Tyson. Siddeeq was the latter’s spiritual advisor and mentor for years.
Even amidst his responsibilities to the world, this never conflicted with the responsibilities Imam Siddeeq had toward his massive family, each of whom he loved immensely. Imam Siddeeq is pictured here with his oldest daughter and son Djameela and Taqwa Siddeeq, as well as his beloved wife Fareedah.
At an event honoring the honorable Clara Muhammad, Imam Siddeeq demonstrates that he was no stranger to sharing the stage with powerful figures such as Imam Warith Deen Mohammed (left side).
